Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a kind of linear water-soluble polymer, there are anionic, cationic, non-ionic and zwitterionic types. Polyacrylamide for mineral processing is usually white powder or colorless viscous colloid, odorless, neutral, easily soluble in water, easy to decomposition when the temperature exceeds 120℃. The beneficiation process will produce a large number of fine mineral suspension, polyacrylamide molecule has a positive group (-CONH), can be dispersed in the solution of suspended particles adsorption and bridge, through electric neutralization, adsorption bridge and other effects, so that the suspended particles form a large flocculation, accelerate the sedimentation of ore particles, to achieve solid-liquid separation. In the process of tailings dehydration, it can make the solid particles such as slime better gather, reduce the moisture content of the filter cake, improve the dehydration efficiency, which is conducive to the subsequent treatment and stacking of tailings.
